Weekly Notes Ending Fri 13/04/2018Saturday saw the last day of the All Ireland juvenile championships in Athlone with relay and field event finals. We had a dismal display in the relays in witch our U13 boys were our only relay finalists. Indeed the team of Ben Walshe, Ronan Cunneen, Matthew Sage and Sam Cusack put up a very fine display to finish fifth in their final. Our field eventers came to the rescue on the day with first Jodie McGrath finishing second in the U15 girls pole vault and soon after Seán Carolan also finishing second in the U18 shot putt. This is Jodie’s first individual All Ireland medal so well done Jodie and hopefully the first of many. Seán had a magnificent Pb of 14.47 in the U18 boys shot putt to complete a Tipp 1-2 with Jack Ryan of Moycarkey. So after a good indoor campaign over the four weekends it’s on to the outdoor campaign with the county post primary schools and Munster junior & U23 both in Templemore later this month.
