It was a busy weekend for the club with the All Ireland U20 on Saturday and U14 - 19 on Sunday both in Tullamore.
We had just four athletes on Saturday but it was a case of quality over quantity all the way. Darragh Miniter got the ball rolling with a 6.65m long jump to take the silver medal. Busy boy Joe McEvoy was 2nd 110m hurdles, 2nd High Jump 1.90m and 3rd in the Javelin with a 44.03m throw. Seán Carolan was also i good form with 2nd in the Shot, 13.97m and also 2nd in the Discus with a 43. 87m throw. Brian Naughton was our fourth athlete in action and despite being our most inexperienced he performed strongly with a 4th place finish in the Hammer and 5th in the 35lb weight for distance.
