From the very first day you step inside your local athletics club your on a voyage of discovery. With a little talent, a lot of determination and an even greater amount of sacrifice you can put yourself in a position to do what all sportspeople dream of which is to represent your country. The latest athlete to receive that honour is Ailbhe O'Neill one of our most focused endurance stars in the club. Getting the call up for the U18 team competition versus England on the day of your 16th birthday made it extra special and memorable not only for herself but also her parents Brian and Annette and younger sister Emily herself another running star of the future. Ailbhe running the 800m did a fine job finishing 4th and the experience has instilled a deep desire to repeat the experience of wearing the green singlet of which there is no greater honour in sport. Well done Ailbhe O'Neill you made your family your club and your coach very proud and best of luck in the future.
