Munster Senior Championships CastleIslandWe travelled to Castle island on Sunday for the Munster seniors and on a warm overcast day our small squad produced some good performances. Mark Tierney had a busy day in the throws with silver in the shot & Discus and bronze in the weight for distance. Seán Carolan competing in his first senior competition won the long jump with a jump of 6.49m Robbie Bennett ran both the 400 & 200m . He was 2nd in the 400 in 49.9 and 5th in the 200m in 22.4. Liam Finn was 5th in the 400m on his first outing of the outdoor season. Ciara Cummins will be a little disappointed with 5th in the 800m in 2.21 but I’m sure she will turn her form around with more races in the next couple of weeks. Margaret Mary Grace had a good run for 4th in the 400m in 63.5s Munster Pairs U9 to U11Well done to all the Athletes taking part in U9 to U11 pair competitions.
