Venue - Dunboyne -------------------------------------------------------------------- Last Sunday, Ciara Cummins had a fine performance for the Irish U20 team that took on Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in the Celtic Cross Country Games. Ciara was selected as captain of her team and lead by example, finishing in 7th place in a very high quality 4Km cross country race. Ciara was the second Irish girl home and the team claimed a silver medal to round off a great day for her. EVENT DATE - Sat 29/11/14 Venue - Nenagh Olympic Indoor Complex Time - 10:45 - 15:00 -------------------------------------------------------- NOAC hosted a triangular interclub event, involving athletes from NOAC, Leevale AC and Ferrybank AC from U8 to U16 There was a large turnout of both Ferrybank and Leevale athletes again this year and their willingness to travel to the event is greatly appreciated. Athletes arrived @ 10.45 and took part in a group warm up @ 11.00, events kicked off @ 11:30. In the repeat of last year's friendly, fun, yet competitive event athletes gained points for their club in each event they took part in. Each year, the club with the highest points total at the end of the day is awarded the Joe Nagle Perpetual Memorial Trophy. The late Joe Nagle was a former chairman of Leevale Athletic Club and served that club loyally for many years as well as representing Leevale and Ireland on the international stage. Nenagh Olympic retained the trophy they held from last year's event. It was great to see so many of our younger athletes in action, some in club colours for the first time and they all performed very well. Events

EVENT DATE - 31/01/15 - (was originally scheduled for 06/12/14) Venue - Nenagh Olympic Indoor Complex Time - Checkin 11:00 Sharp! This proverd to be a very successful event last year with both parents and athletes enjoying s6ome very competitive action. We could not have ran the event without the great help we got not only from our own members but also from members of participating clubs and we would be grateful to see this spirit reproduced for this years event. ALL AGE GROUPS BASES ON THE 2015 ATHLETICS YEAR Last year this was well attended with athletes travelling from three provinces to get some competition before their indoor championships started. A full array of events will be on offer. These can be viewed in the timetable below or downloaded in pdf format if required. This event will be taking place under our upgraded complex lighting. We had a lot of help from club members and others from outside the club who generously gave of their time and efforts. We hope to see the same again this year and look forward to another successful event.

Venue - Ferrybank A.C., Waterford Regional Sports Centre Uploaded by Garrett Moylan, with thanks to PRO Ray Deering --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Sunday about 30 of our athletes and supporting adults, boarded a bus and headed to Waterford for the Ferrybank A.C. open sports. This was the first event on the newly resurfaced track and all of the athletes enjoyed running on a surface similar to the track at the London Olympics. Over the course of the day we had some fine performances and these resulted in a fine haul of medals. It was great to see so many of athletes availing of this chance to get some events under their belts before the outdoor season starts in earnest. A big thank you to Christine Finnerty who organised the trip and had everything running smoothly (excuse the pun). Following the athletics our group enjoyed a break in the Peoples Park in waterford city. |
