Undeterred by this, our athletes performed well and have several medals to show for their efforts. Junior/U23 All our athletes were in the Junior section and it was great to see so many in action. On the day there were gold medals and Munster titles for Paul White 400m, Tom Hennessy 800m, Ciara Cummins 800m, Mark Tierney Weight for Distance and the men’s relay team of Dan Finnerty, Tom Hennessy, Aidan Healy and Paul White. Silver medals were won by Aoife Tierney and Dan Finnerty in the Pole Vault and it was great to see the new Pole Vault equipment and landing foam being used for the first time. The Junior girls relay team consisting of Amy White, Ciardha Maher, Ellen Finnerty and Ciara Cummins also claimed a silver medal. Bronze medals were won by Ciardha Maher in the High Jump and Aoife Deering in the 1500m. Masters Michael Kelly was our only master in action claiming a gold in the m65 Shot and Weight for Distance
