24/10/2014

EVENT DATE - Sun 19/10/14
Venue - Moyglass
Time -

The Tipperary Uneven Age Cross Country Championships were held in Moyglass and Nenagh Olympic athletes did very well. The course was dry but had several long drags and the strong wind made running conditions tough. We finished the day with a host of individual medals as well as a team gold and three county champions.

Girls U9
This was the first event of the day and Christine Percy was our sole participant. She had a super run to finish in 4th place over the 600m course.

Boys U9
In the boys u9 race there were some fine performances, Ben Walsh ran very well and finished in 6th place, Conor Hodgins also did well for his 10th place finish and Darragh O'Dwyer was 27th .

Girls U11
Our girls u11 performed well with Ellen O'Shaughnessy in 14th , Emma Mulcahy 17th and Hannah Grace 22nd.

Boys U11
The Boys u11 race had the best finish of the day, with four Nenagh athletes all fighting for the title. Alex Reynolds prevailed in the sprint finish as he narrowly held off Luke Purcell with Tom Walsh in 3rd and Cian Hodgins in 5th. Well done lads on some great running. Also in this race and helping the lads to a team gold was Aidan O'Dwyer in 16th and Eoin Moloney in 20th.

Girls U13
Lucy Mulcahy finished in 11th place in the girls u13 race missing out on a medal by one position.

Boys U13
Ted Collins controlled the boys u13 race from start to finish to win gold and was followed home by Josh Egan who finished strongly for 2nd place. Joseph O'Donoghue finished 30th in the same race.

Girls U15
Alannah Deering finished a crediitable 2nd in the girls u15 race.

Girls U17
Fiona Molloy put in a fine performance to win gold in the girls u17 race over 4000m.
