Irish Internationals 2013

Congratulations to Michael Quilligan who won a silver team medal as part of the Irish Intermediate Boys team representing Ireland at the SIAB (Schools International Athletics Board), Combined Events Championships held in the Emirates Arena, Glasgow on Saturday 14/12/13.

Mikey finished in 8th place individually and in doing so set three new personal bests - Shot, Long Jump and 200m.  This was a great performance against the best multi eventers from Ireland and the U.K.  When the team points totalled, Ireland were awarded the silver medal.

Well done Mikey on once again representing yourself, your family, your club and your country with great distinction.  Nenagh Olympic is very proud of you.  It is great to see another fine role model and success story for our younger athletes.

Congratulations to Mark Gleeson who was selected for the Irish team that will compete in the British and Irish Masters Cross Country Championships in Cardiff next weekend. We wish Mark the best of luck.

Congratulations to Aoife Deering and Ciara Cummins who both represented Ireland at the British and Irish hill running championships in Scotland.  The ladies put in some fantastic performances on a really difficult course, doing the club proud.
