Tom McCutheon and Oisin Pepper were crowned All Ireland u11 60m team champions when storming to victory in fine style in an event where Tom had to run his race twice due to technical difficulties. Well done lads on a great performance, Tom ran 9.20 while Oisin clocked 9.19 Cian Hodgins and Jack O'Callaghan jumped very well in the u10 long jump to claim the silver with jumps of 3.82m for Jack and 3.48m for Cian. Cian joined Tom Walsh for the u10 500m and when the times were added up, 1.37.78 for Tom and 1.38.29 for Cian, the lads just missed out on 3rd place by three hundredths of a second. This was a very brave attempt by both lads and it was very unfortunate for Cian that he was carrying an injury into the race but he gave his all and both will be challenging for honours soon. Alex Reynolds and Ben Connolly also just missed out on a medal when they finished 4th in the u11 Turbo Javelin. Alex threw 21.73m and Ben 19.10m. Zak Egan and Filip McIntyre finished 8th in the u10 Turbo Javelin with Zak throwing 10.09m and Filip 15.79m. Both lads gained great experience from competing at this level. Our boys u10 relay team rounded off the day in great style by winning the silver medal. After coming through their heat the team of Tom Walsh, Zak Egan, Filip McIntyre and Jack O'Callaghan put in a super effort in the final and were unlucky to miss out on the gold but. They put in a great performance, running 60.92secs. Well done to all of our athletes who got to this stage. This spells the end of their outdoor season and everybody can be very proud of their achievements to date throughout the year. Photos to follow...
